The ruins at Choquequirao are perched above the Apurimac canyon, 3050 meters above sea level.

Called - ''another Machu Picchu'' - its ruins are now only accessible by walking 4 days to reach the top of the mountain.

Though they are still not entirely excavated, the Choquequirao ruins are estimated to be about three times the size of Machu Picchu.
